Saturday Morning Cartoons #32
In this episode: Whole30 and feeling flirty.
Good morning, fam!
Hope you all had a good workweek.
After a particularly litty holiday break, Abby and I are back on our Whole30 bullshit.
While I go look for decent mocktails that don’t involve kombucha, feel free to check out this week’s recs.
Plop down on the couch, silence all those work notifications, and let’s get into it.
Here’s what I have for you this morning:
We watched The Menu this week which was eerily perfect timing after hearing about Noma (ranked as the “world’s best restaurant”) closing at the end of 2024. Who would’ve thought fancy dining and toxic workplace culture make for a great thriller?
Keep It is back with a new season and new cover art. It’s a podcast about pop culture, entertainment, and how both collide with politics. They ring in a new year with a pretty real interview with Anna Kendrick.
We kicked off our first week of Whole30 with stuffed baked potatoes, sushi bowls, and beef stew. Honestly, this time around doesn’t feel as bad except I could use a glass (or bottle) of wine and a Snickers…
Speaking of which, we stumbled across this recipe for a Whole30 Snickers replacement of stuffed dates. Yes, I just compared one of the greatest candy bars ever invented to a fruit stuffed with almond butter but hey, it’s the best I got for the next month.
Have you ever thought about freelancing? If so, now’s the time to check out this Standout Freelancer class from Dann Petty. It’s only…$5 over the next 24 hours?!
Your job might be important, but it’s not all-important

As someone whose personal hell is waiting in the security line at the airport, this list of “TSA’s weirdest finds of 2022” made me feel a tiny bit better.
Did I mention that I’m relaunching this newsletter as The Workfarce? Saturday Morning Cartoons will now be the free weekly roundup I share. If you’re interested in receiving other series related to helping you find your way in the world of work, become a paid subscriber here.
You made it to the end! As a bonus, I’ll leave you with this.
I cringed just typing that…
You know what they say about art imitating real life.
